About Us

About the Comic

Sweet Fat Life is the brain child of two very good, very over-weight brohams.  Throughout our lives, the scale has never been our friend.  Sadly, neither has the media, random strangers, and our own families. So many out there are vehemently opposed to the bulging belly and the blubbery bum. So many reasons then, to look in the mirror and feel like shit.

We’re tired of it. We’re tired of the whispers, the dirty looks, the whole stigma of fat. We’re tired of being shown unattainable goals of how thin a woman should be or how only big muscles will make a man attractive.

We’re tired of the misconceptions too!  They think we’re lazy. They think we sit around all day stuffing our faces with cakes and cookies. Guess what. Lauren spends two hours almost every day working out at the gym. And Genny? She handles 1000lb horses on a daily basis.
We’re certain that a fatphobe’s brain just exploded. No apologies for that.

We have a goal for Sweet Fat Life. We want to share with the world the struggles we’ve had with accepting our bodies and loving ourselves unconditionally. If you haven’t figured it out already, the focus of this comic, isn’t about weight loss. We’re all about positive self-image. Without it, it’s hard to make the changes in your life necessary to facilitate a healthier lifestyle.

We want our readers to know that we’ve been there, and done that. So sit back, hopefully laugh a lot, and share your thoughts with us. We’d love to hear them.

meconGenny (aka Ninjaclutz)

A twenty something  student with aspirations of being a starving artist. Takes care of a menagerie of animals from rats to horses. Tends to get into heated arguments over animal welfare and the environments. Is really just a geeky, klutzy, awkward fat girl who generally enjoys the world and the weirdos inhabiting it.

Lauren (aka Sunnith, aka Lee Zaya)

A student, with no solid academic goals. Has no idea what she wants to be when she grows up anymore. Currently seeking a job with benefits (no not those kind of benefits you perv). Artistic, quiet, sarcastic, intelligent, and has really big hips: She’s got a lot goin’ for her.
